Sealing the doors with a soft top

I have decided to sport my soft top the majority of the time, and the doors align... a little less than optimal. I have new door seals, so I am guessing I should use some adhesive and mount them to the door rather than where they would go on the hard top right?

I'm getting stoked, my Bronco is just about street legal to get inspected now - so I finally get to drive it again!
