Had problems with my 89 full size key starting my truck , have had this problem before in my other 89 so I pulled the ignition switch box out so I could just start the truck with a ***** driver , works , Well switch stopped working , replaced switch, does'nt work either stuck jumping relay on firewall HELP !!!!!

Sounds like you may have 2 problems. If turning the key switch doesn't operate the ignition switch on top of the steering column, then you probably need to replace the link between the key switch and the push rod. Also, would require realigning the ignition switch since you have it off the column. Picture attached.

It could also be that you have a BAD new switch or a connection problem. If you have a volt meter, have someone operate the ignition switch while you check for voltage on the red with blue striped wire. You should find that at the switch and at the start relay. If you have a manual transmission it goes through the switch on the pedal on it's way to the start relay. If you have an automatic transmission it GOTOs through the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission on it's way to the start relay. If you have voltage at the the relay and it doesn't operate, then you have a bad relay.
