What is best way to gain access to the back of the HVAC control panel and the vacuum control switch?

I have removed the front panel, the radio, and the ashtray. However I cannot see how I can pull out the controls to gain access to the vacuum control switch and tubing to see if there's any damage and if it is working properly.

The reason I need to do this is because my defrost and floor heat are not working. The only air for heat or AC is coming out the dash vents.

I have not found any YouTube videos that show me how to do it.

Try this video, it is a HVAC control repair bracket, but shows how to remove the HVAC control.

Thanks but that doesn't apply to my truck. I have a 1985 bullnose Bronco. It has a totally different dash and HVAC controls.

It has been about 25 years since I had to get rid of my 1984, but I vaguely recall two screws to remove the cover and 4 screws for the HVAC panel - removing the stereo to reach through to detach the cables and plugs.
At the bottom of this page there are two video replacing the HVAC control: https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/topic/11216-next-issue-heater-air-flow/page/3/

This video seems to state you can remove the vacuum portion from underneath by removing the ashtray: https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/topic/11219-repair-of-an-hvac-control/#comment-143711
Good luck.
