I got to put my 2 cents in here the 300 is a great and strong motor is there any reason why you want to replace it besides wanting a v-8 wchich is fine. I've never done a swap like this myself but a couple of my fello bronco buds tried to swap a 302 out of a 84-86 cant't remember and reaplce it with a 351 out of a 90's and they had a **** of a time trying to completey rewire the entire truck computers and all. I will say good luck to ya...

secondly is there specific reason you are wanting to build the 86 instead of the 95. why not just build the 95 with everything already there.
