bronco to bronco swap

[Dutch.289Bronco]

Living in the Netherlands it hard to get pieces for Broncos.

I own a 1988 Bronco .302 engine and A4OD tranny. The body being far from good there will be a time in the near future that it isnt allowed on the roads anymore.

I wonder if the complete engine and transmission will swap directly into my other Bronco (1966 .289 )

Can anyone tell me what problems will occur ?

My first thought is that the auto is longer than the manual that is in the EB. With that in mind, you are going to have to fab up your own/find a new cross member to brace the tranny. The engine mounts should be the same as the 289/302 is the same block. If you do decide to do it, the only real problem will be the mounting concerns. That 88 probably has a C6 AOD (Not sure cause I don't know much about the newer Broncos) so it will have a little more length. But it can be done with out too much "headache"....Good luck with it

Doesn't seems to be any trouble.

The Full size still drives great and after retiring I will use these parts.
