Which Transmission ?

I am looking for some input on a transmission for my Bronco, it currently has a NP435. At first I wanted to go Automatic now I am thinking about staying with manual. What I don't like about the NP435 is the long throw shifting. I will primarily be on the street with some occasional trial riding. I am planning on a 351 Windsor and would like a quicker shift. Any suggestions ?

You're in luck! Wildhorses4x4 is selling a short shift kit which works pro! Its spendy being billet aluminum so they are in the process of making one out of steel.

I am leaning towards replacing my NP 435 with a NV 3550. I am more of a street driver and want a quicker shift and a fifth gear. Any thoughts ? $-)

3550 is a great swap for a daily driver, even works well in mild to medium wheelin situations.

For a quicker shift use an aftermarket shifter, I prefer the Hurst over the feel of the B&M.

Drawback of this swap... its costly, but you have the NP435 to sell to at least partially

finance the new tranny.
