I have a 1984 Bronco and I pretty much roll with the top off daily, plan on getting a soft top here very soon...What I was wondering is would it be possible to get the whole interior floor sprayed with bed liner so that it would make it somewhat water proof? That would be awesome to me...Thanks anyone for the suggestions. I'm also interested in what you have to say about seats/seat covers.

Edit - Not sure why two topics were made (processed twice maybe?) Either way, sorry! Delete the other one, keep this one. Thanks admins.

You can bedliner anything you wish.. I'm about to bedliner my wheels and cargo basket.

I'll also be bedlinering my frame and everything I can possibly get to under the truck, and the engine bay.

This will give you 100% water proof protection as long as the seams are sealed. I recomend for you, put in some drain holes. You can do a one way valve. I would put one in each side, on the floorboard where the driver/passanger feet rest at. Another in the back floor where the back passanger feet would be, and one or two more in the cargo area.

I would beliner it first, get the hose out, pour some water inside the truck, and see where the drains would be best put to drain as much water as possible.

Also I would get some quality or have someone do quality work, and do leather for the seats and cloth accecnts on the door pannels. Also the headliner as well.

I'm going to be doing this with my offroad bronco this summer or next.

Good advice, AD. I've had estimates of about $500 to Line-X the interior of the Bronco, so I did what alot of folks do and applied Herculiner myself for under $100 on the the 84 Bronco. I've been ******* for 6-7 years, and used to run a Skyler fastback soft top until I put the rollcage in. The herculiner lasts about 1-2 years, depending on weather. On mine, it's about 50% gone after 2 years and needs to be done again. I've also used the Dupli-Color spray-on bedliner on my frame after cleaning and prepping it during the SAS. That also seems to last about the same amount of time, less on high-traffic areas like suspension and axle parts. I also have the rear seat removed, and the center hole for the rear latch is the one place that collects water. A 1/2 hole drilled thru the bottom drains off any water now, JSM84

YO!

Also consider a neoprene set of seat covers, such as Wet Okole; they list it just for the front buckets and does cost $$$

or

http://www.gtcovers.com/ they use Chloroprene Rubber and have rear becnh covers as well as front covers. $239.95

My better half hand knitted/crocheted front & rear 10 yrs ago in wool... Soon, we';; replace the cotton underlayer with microfiber;

could use neoprene to cover rear bench and over buckets's back rests and attach with velcro.

The early model Trooppers had a fully hosable interior incl dash! Too bad Ford went with the Eddie Bauer concept and such.

Wow I like the idea of drilling drainage holes. This sounds pretty fun...What's the cost of the whole process do you think? Not sure how many cans it'd take to do what I want to do, or if it'd be more beneficial just to hire some experts to do it.

As for the seats...I wonder how good they would look in the red/white duo tone style I have?

Oh yeah! If you guys have any pics of more waterproofed Broncos, you should post em here! :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

The Herculiner goes for about $80-$85 per gallon, but sometimes is on sale for $70/gal. That's enough to do two coats on the entire floor of the cab and cargo area, plus the bedsides. It's not as durable or lasting as Line-X or Rhino, but about 20% of the cost. IT took me and a friend about 7-8 hours to do the 84 Bronco. He cleaned and prepped the floor while I welded up some cracks and taped up all the holes. It's quite messy, too, and the stuff won't come off of your hands for days so wear gloves. JSM84

They also suggest using acetone or a metal cleaner to clean the area before applying. Its messy but it does the trick. I use it on a jon boat and it holds out the water and can be sprayed on as well.
