I was looking over my engine ('93 5.0L V8) the other day just checking fluids and stuff. And thought about why there are two holes going into the throttle body instead of one big one. I know we've all probably thought about it at one point and thought nothing of it but I was just curious why Ford did that? Also I was wondering if anyone has changed it to a single and how and if it would be better to have a duel hole or a single larger one? Just thought it was interesting and thought I'd ask. Thanks.

likley the two holes in the throttle body are designed to either control or direct the direction of the air into the intake manifold, but I'm sure there are all kinds of things that a little modification can do. for example using a spacer between the throttle body and the intake and increase the air speed going into your engine providing more horsepower. and different throttle body designs can create a spin effect that also helps improve airflow. most people overlook that area but it all helps, and the spacers are really cheap.
