Solid axle swap

I just bought two 1991 explorers. I want to make the one in better condition an off road toy. I have been checking for lifts for the ttb but found limited results. I thought about putting a solid axle under it thinking it couldn't be to hard. I found a kit from fabritech that is completely bolt on. It seems like a great deal. They offer up to a 10 inch lift for my toy. I was wondering what other people have done and if anybody thinks it would be worth the money to do it. probably the easiest way to SAS an explorer would be to find a D44 front out of a jeep wagoneer. its leaf sprung, so springs are cheap and you dont have to deal with much in terms of geometry. try to stay away from the fabritech kit. its pure crap. about the only thing that is worth anything in that kit is the arms, and they overcharge for those too. check out therangerstation.com, or flexplorers.com. ask around and you'll get some good info
