Whenever its warm out, say 85+ my truck will get a hesitation that wont go away until about 15mph and until then its running like ***** chugging, occasional backfire. I think its the egr valve. Anyone agree or think it could be something else?

second problem in the winter my truck has a rolling idle and usually stalls out (kind of ruins the usefullness of a remote starter) only codes pulled from it where a transmission code (which im ignoring at the moment) and throttle position sensor out of range. any help is appriciated.

The 300 I-6 in my '80 had similar problems. Turned out that the screws holding all the various levels/sections of the carb together had worked loose. After a proper snugging things seem to be fine.

I had that problem in the winter, all I did was change the spark plugs and adjust the carb to lean it out a bit cuz it was running to rich. I also changed the distributor plugs and it seemed to make a difference.
