Ive got a pair of headman long tube headers that i got from a friend and they are solid but they have quite a bit of surface rust and i was wondering if i could sand blast them with a low pressure sand blaster to get the rust off so i can paint them, any sugestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

yo 90,

you can have it blasted

Gacknar used "Right Stuff" rust remover

right_stuff_deruster.jpg

let it soak in for a few hours

hit it with a tooth brush, and then let it soak some more, rinse and repeat until all the rust is gone.

make sure that it dries 110%

Then I painted it with POR-20

And when you go to put them on, make sure you soak the bolts with Liquid Wrench, WD-40 or some kind of penetrating oil so you have less of a chance of breaking the bolts off inside the head. Peronally, I busted 3.

Good luck.
