Roof Rack

Does anyone know a well designed and cheap roof rack or plans so I can build my own. The stock one on my 89 BII sucks the big one!, keeps sliding after you tighten the screws and won't hold squat in place.

Just do an online search for roof rack, and copy one of those. The fact you're asking for help on something so simple, makes me think you're not sure how to get the job done on your own

CAN GET IT DONE was just wondering if anyone had some GOOD imput on wich ones worked better than others

I have to agree, the stock roof rack leaves much to be desired. On my last Ford, a 1997 Explorer, I replaced the roof rack with a roof top basket. I did not follow the rack's instructions which told me to mount the basket on top of the roof rack rails. I mounted it strait to the roof with bolts and rubber spacers. It worked out very well. It all cost me less than $150.00.
