just intalled a 6" lift, still in process, and i went to put the rear shocks on my 78 bko, i have these shocks http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-23434_...__lift_rear.htm

problem is, when i went to put the bigger end in the lower shock mount, it was to fat to rotate up towards the upper shock mount, is it ok to flip the shock around so that the shaft is down and the housing of the shock is up? or do i just grind the lower mount down to fit it?

i had to grind the shock mount for the front shocks, cause it was having same problem.

If you "spread" the ears on the shock mount,it will probably go in.If not you can trim the width of the bushing with a razor blade slightly, not much, because you want them to compress when tightened down.If you're really doubtful call them before damaging the shock.
