my 93 5.0 bronco started missing while driving the other day, i dont drive it very often so i thought it might be gas, it was low so i topped it off and drove it kinda hard to 'blow it out'... well it started sputtering worse, i was poking around a day or so later and unless i bumped it num 6 wire was loose from the dist cap, with that fixed i fired it up tonite after dark to look for arc, i found it all around the ignition coil, so should i just replace it and see if my miss and sputtering is cured... ???

Usually that is just bad plug wires, coil wire. If you are only seeing the coil wire do it, replace that one for sure, but really you are probably due for a new set.

Kind of wild to watch isn't it.

That and log the maintenance in your owners manual- Mileage, date, etc.
Having a accurate and complete maintenance record of what all has ever been done is Very crucial to knowing where your at in the life cycle of components. Makes it that much easier to narrow down a issue when such things crop up.

I agree it is more likely the wires that are the problem. I would like to know where the arc was leaking though, was it right around the coil wire or was it around the coil? I have see the e core coils with cracks in the high voltage housing around the outlet. So it does kind of matter where the arc is coming from. Good luck with it!
