Hey guys I have a 88 Bronco with 351 Manual 4x4 and I need a new Rear end. I am planning on getting one from the salvage yard but i need to know my gear ratio, now im told there is a tag on one of the bolts holding the cover on, however there is no tag that i can see. The cover has 10 bolts if that helps but im wondering how i can tell my gear ratio if there is no tag or if there is a standard ratio on my bronco so i can get new rear end this weekend any help will be appriciated Thanks.

most broncos came with 355 gears but pull the tag off to be sure, just tkae the tag with you to the junkyard and they should be able to tell you what ratio you have if you cant find it anywhere else, but that link above should aid you greatly

You can also look for the tag on the front pumpkin/differential housing. Will eeither be 3.54 front/3.55 rear, or 3.08 for both for your 88.
