My buddy owns a big auto salvage, plus got a smoking deal on the front clip from a guy on marketplace.
Sold my parts 78 for way more than I paid for Frankie as well

Gotta love it when a plan comes together.
Edit: 3/23
New shell seals in place.

Trashed rear shell bolt holds modded for Normal j-clips. Drills & die grinders are essential.
With the onset of spring 🌧 rains, getting the shell re-attatched is becoming a priority.
J-clips, another one of those things that makes one ponder, why in h e l l didn't they do it All this way to begin with 🤔

Nice work!
Grazie.
Was a bit concerned with the double layer of metal in that area, but luck & superior skill was on our side once again.

Edit 4/12-
Got the shell repainted a flat dark earth which seems pretty close to original. Can go back on anytime, but the weather is too dang nice right now! 😊
May take the chance to embellish a bit. We will see.
A soft top is sure looking like a good investment, unfortunately the wallet ain't looking that good. 🤷‍♂️ 1 thing at a time.

Getting a bit of utility here & there. Had to recover a 'bucket' that sank from the recent🌀monsoon. Made the chore somewhat easier. Was a beautiful day for a salvage operation.

My 78 Bronco has been in storage for a long time and it has many things that need attention.

I got it running again a couple days ago and changed the oil yesterday. I added a couple quarts of ATF to get it to go into gear and it shifted both directions.
It runs a little rough cold but smooths out when it warms up. The distributor is currently frozen due to corrosion and I can't adjust the timing.

The electrical system needs some attention too. The Fuse Box is in rough shape corrosion wise. The dash lights haven't worked in a long time. The only lights that work now are the headlights and the light in the aftermarket tach(which doesn't work except for the light, lol). The rear window hasn't worked in years.

The rear tires didn't survive the last air up cycle o_O, they were very old and weathered, the fronts are newer.

A little bit at a time, Henry-J. Just gotta keep pluggin away at it. 💰Money pit!
Took me 2+ years & a misadventure in the middle of things to get to where I'm at.
You'll get there. The biggest advantage you have is no EEC4 or electric t-case to contend with.
A 2/4V Cleveland setup on that one would be pretty trick.

👍

The lack of electronics of these years is one reason I held onto it for so long, I hate 'em.
If memory serves, the manual transfer case linkage is pretty vague and might need some upgrading. It has manual hubs too, they're stiff but still rotate.

I've been collecting parts here and there for it when I can for years. I put a used 4 barrel Edelbrock intake and carb on it a few years ago. I gave a guy $20 for the manifold and the carb was given to me by a friend. I blocked off the heat crossover on it. Are you saying it needs two 4 barrels on it? I do have a bunch of Cleveland parts....

A dual quad setup would be hot, but likely a overkill.
Just a set of 4V heads, a cam & the right carb would wake things up.

Finished the mosaic today. Nothing too fancy, just a Southwest slant on things. Getting the geometry right on some of those angles was kinda tricky. 🤓

4/17Edit- & back on with the bonnet.
That was a SoB with some of those fastners and having that inner welt lined up true with the body🥵 I guess once everything settles back in it won't be so bad.
Found one of the long side bolts had been run thru the sheet metal off to the side instead of hitting the j-clip. Must have been one of those miller hi-life days on the assembly floor. 😠
Now back in my shell again. 🐌

The old daily WD-soakie routine for about a week should loosen up that onry distrabutator.

Hey L, here's a couple 📸snaps of the AC box area that you had asked about in regards to my question about the 94-97 134a retrofit stuff. Let me know what ya think about it. Thx!

I got my halfcab top painted and installed this weekend. I also did some under hood detailing. In my best Hannibal Smith voice " I love it when a plan comes together." Its nice to finally be able to drive it again.
