I have the factory tint on only the side windows on the cap.. They arn't that dark either.

Problem is, I want 15% tint all around (minus windsheild).. but with the two back side windows already factory tinted.. what % tint do I need on those so they match the other 15% windows?

I'm not positive, but I think the factory is 35%. But don't quote me on that.

I know people get away with it, but is most states it is illegal to put anything on the front seat windows that exceeds the tint that the factory supplies. It has to do with safety for police officers approaching stopped vehicles.

Good luck,

:)>-

Its illegal here too, but seeing how all the local patrol cars have tinted windows, they cannot write the ticket. Its not legal for them either, no matter what they tell you. At least in jersey anyway.

I think in CO the min you can have is 20-30% on the front windows. However, 15% is a very popular choice as it matches todays vehicles privacy rear window tint. I have 15% on my one truck and it looks sleek. In the day time you can't see in, or at night. And it's easy for me to backup/see at night.

We have over 300 days of sunshine here in CO so tint is a must out here. I've just been too lazy to have the Bronco done. Plus it also has no power when the A/C is on lol

How do you like that soft-top anyhow? I was tossing the idea of getting one..but with my new 390hp/430tq motor going in this summer, A/C drag won't be much of an issue mutch more. But I would still love to have the back end open..and now that I have a home, I have a way to remove the hardtop and hoist it up and out of the way.

Still waitin for warm weather to put the soft top on, but I have had that hard top off several times, And its just that much more fun to drive. Just puttin it back on at the end of the day is a pain in the ****.

I assume there is a rubber all weather seal between the cap and truck.. does that need to be replaced every time or how does that work?

Not as long as you keep it protected with armour all or something like that. just like the original ones, they only leak if they are neglected. (Or so the company says anyway)

Well got a quote for my Tint. $145 for it all done. About $25 than what the one place was going to charge me 6 months ago, but they have gone out of business. They did a GREAT job on my buddies Altima..but can't use em if they no longer around lol.

We'll see what it looks like. I go in around noon tomorrow..

tint that is too dark is illegal in some states. usually the tint company knows the law, so ask them. i know when i had a car tinted, they could calculate the tint already on from the factory, and they also knew the law, they gave me as much tint as the law allowed. a quality tint place would not do illegal work. in some states, if the owner of the car gets a ticket, then the tint company also gets a ticket for tinting it illegally.

30% is the lowest the "law" allows in CO. However I got 15% on both my trucks now..as do hundreds of thousands in CO have. We get over 300 days of sunshine..hence why tint is so popular. And that's BS about a quality tint shop will not do illegal work.. I have had 15% tint on my pickup sense bought new in 04 (6yrs now) and it looks just as good as the day I got the tint done.

Anywho, got new tint put on. See the thread "Got Tint".
