Hey guys, The tranny started slipping on my 1995 Bronco(see signature). It was rebuilt at 180,000 miles and I currently have 211,000 miles. It has already had a service done at 20,000 miles and only slips when shifting gears, but if I keep my foot out of it and don't let it rev past 3,000 RPM it won't slip. I am thinking it is just overheating because when I feel the tranny tunnel after a 15 minute dive it is warm to the touch. not hot just warm. (from inside the cab that is). Should I check my tranny cooler? I was thinking that maybe when it was rebuilt it did not have a new on put on as should be done so old metal and stuff doesn't get back in the new trans. What do you guys think? any other ideas?

Check your trans position switch on the transmission and make sure it is clean and adjusted correctly. It might just be out of adjustment causing the slip. I would also check your temp on the trans as well, maybe buy a B&M deep trans pan with the port in the side for guage and pick up a guage as well, it is really useful. Then check your fluid and make sure it is flowing well through the cooler and maybe pick up an add on cooler.
