I am an owner of a beautiful '96 Eddie Bauer edition Ford Bronco 4x4. It runs like a champ but when i bought it, the gas guage did not work. I don't have very extensive mechanical experience but am willing and able to learn. I'd like to repair the guage problem myself. Any tips or instructions would be greatly appreciated. I am also now having an issue with the power windows. My back window won't roll up or down but the motor was just replaced. My passenger side window wont roll down from the driver side door button panel but the same panel works for the driver side window and to lock and unlock the power locks. Any suggestions as to how I should go about figuring out whether it's a motor, panel, or fuse problem that i'm dealin with?? Thanks for the help.

Electrical issues are always the hardest. The newer you get, the more wires there are... Just wait. You'll meet a few guys who have nothing but great useful information. Follow their thoughts and instructions perfectly, and you'll not only learn, but probalby find your issue.

Welcome to the Zone > . Sounds like you got a nice deal, post some pictures when you get a chance and add your truck's vitals to your signature, it will help with future requests.

If you plan on doing maintenance yourself, I would suggest you buy at the minimum an Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual. They are available on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-Ford-Bronco-Truck-Electrical-Vacuum-Manual-EVTM-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ370414931565QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature , this is the single most valuable document you can buy. Above that, would be a complete set of Service manuals, also frequently found on eBay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-FORD-F-150-350-BRONCO-TRUCK-SHOP-SERVICE-MANUAL-96-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ360291510959QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature . The Chiltons and Haynes books are not bad, but only a readers digest version of the real thing and their wiring diagrams will give you a migraine in about 10 minutes.

The fuel gauge problem could be several things, a connector that has corroded contacts or disconnected, the sender unit, or the gauge, (I left out the ground since your fuel pump is operating, it use the same ground.

The power window problem is most likely a broken wire where they transition from the door to the body. They tend to brake after being flexed thousands of times. I don't have the diagrams available right now, but our friend Miesk5 does, I'm pretty sure. http://www.broncolinks.com/index.php?index=1

Good luck,
