Can someone point me in the right direction of where to buy the parts needed??

I'm new/dumb to this area of the truck.. I am looking for posi, keeping my factory settings which is I think, 3.55 on a 8.8 rear.

estimated cost would be helpful too ^_^ /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Nothing major.. enough to hold up to 500hp (getting new 420hp/500tq +/- motor put in soon)

Did you check the "Bronco Graveyard"? Have rear setups, although I'm not sure a 8.8 is enough for 500+ HP. May want to look into a 9" swap.

Oh come on!! 8.8 is only .2 off from a 9!!!!!

..well see..problem is, I'm not exactly sure what is all needed. Bronco graveyard has a ton of stuff, but are they over-priced? Also their selection is fairly large. And not knowing what the lines are of what I need, make it a tricky situation on what to buy

this is a locker/ limited slip, both wheels go in straight line and just unlocks when turning.

it replaces you spider gears with out having to remove your carrier or ring gear.

just pull out the spider gears follow the instructions and within 2 hours you have a locker.

pretty good price to.

I was looking at the trac lock gear set on broncograveyard.com, but they don't look any different than an open diff with spider gears, if someone else has found an article on other lockers/ limited slips under $350 I would love to see it.

also anyone know where to find a locker with a switch to the dash cause in a Canadian winter with a limited slip that doesn't slip going into a corner and i'll be in the ditch.....again.

with a 9 " to put in a locker you have to pull everything out of the front of the housing to get to the spider gears, the 8.8's have he cover on the back to you can get right to business in your driveway.

If you really stress that drive train with a 400 to 500 hp engine you will most like end up with pieces all over the place. You might want to consider a Dana 60 setup which is much beefier.

Good luck,

PS Posi is a GM thing :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> . At Ford it is called a Limited Slip differential.

that is always an option, but that should mostly be reserved for mud trucks and vehicles that won't see hard surfaces like pavement.

its like having a locker that will never unlock, untill you take a curve on a road and your spider gears shatter. and you have to use your front end to drive you home. do so with caution
