So i have an 88 xlt and im just curious about if anyones ever tried to put a wrangler front offroad type bumper on a bronco. What it would look like and what kind of fab work id have to do to pull it off. The reason i ask is because on my local craigslist i can find 20+ wrangler bumpers for under 100$ and if i search for a bronco one it doesnt exist. As im a 4x4er on a budget i was wondering if this might be an option. Thanks ahead of time

considering how unlikely that the wrangler bumper could be modified to fit without some serious torching and welding. the obvious fact that the full size bronco is 79.1 " wide and the jeep wrangler before 2007 is 66" wide there is almost no way to make it look good being over a foot short.

if you have the tools and the time just make your own. the bush bar in the picture of my bronco cost me $36 of material

Well i know the newer wranglers are 73 which is only 6 inchs short. I didnt think 3 inchs on each side would look all that terrible

I don't see how this could be cost effective trying to get an aftermarket off road bumper for a newer smaller vehicle that probably wont fit without major modification. if you want a cheap off road bumper remove the bumper buy a section of 1/4" wall pipe, weld on a couple brackets and paint it. then you you want to change the design or add to it you just have to clean off the paint and weld on the new stuff.

I think ur underestimating the quality of bumper i can get on craigslist for cheap. I don't want some cheesy pipe bumper. Theres some really nice ones on there for cheap. Hence my original question

most would not opt for 3 inches narrow on each side due to the fact it offers no protection to the corner lights and may be right in front of your head lights if it comes up that high. its ultimately up to your eye as to what you think looks good and fits like you want. just keep in mind that the overall width of the bumper is only part of the equation. the mounting brackets for the jeep are probably not spaced the same as a bronco. so there most likely will be some modification to be done to mount it. i built both of my bumpers from scratch (bulk steel plate angle iron "C" channel) then came across a brush gard from a chevy. a cut here some grinding there a little welding and it now rides proudly on my truck. i think it looks good most would never know it was made for a chevy. untill i get the itch to change it or modify it I like it. the main thing is you have to like the work required to make it fit like you want and like the end results. go for it show some pics before and after

The simple answer is no. the more complex answer is yes.

Anything can fit anything else with enough time and money. Most people don't have the time or money to accomplish this, and prefer to use their resources for items designed for their bronco. In my case, I had a couple weekends free and a whole pile of metal given to me by family.
