Hi

I am from Alice Springs, Central Australia and I have just purchased an '84 Bronco (Aus spec)

I had a '86 Bronco (5.0 EFI) in my younger days that I was forced to sell. it has taken me 15 years to get another

The new one is a 351 Cleveland, C6 Auto, running on LPG.

It is sceduled to arrive next week, here are some photos

Is there any info on Australian Bronco/ F100 specifications on the net or in this forum?

I have looked everywhere without success

Cheers

Aussie Pete

Welcome, Pete!

For some reason your pictures didnt show up on my computer. But I would really like to see a Bronco with the steering wheel on the left side.

In the last six months, I have met a lot of Aussie's at Camp Victory, Iraq. They are a cool bunch of guys (and a few gals). I also recently was in charge of a security detail for an Australian music group, "The McClymonts". I dont really know how famous they are "down under" but they were pretty good country music singers.

Sorry, I don't know where to find Australian specs on the net but, welcome to Broncozone.

This is me and a coworker with the McClymonts (I'm the taller one)

Welcome to the Zone > . Nice looking truck. Are you sure that is a Cleveland? The 84's in the US came with a 351 Winchester. Good question, I did a little poking around on the net and so far haven't come up with anything. If anyone on this forum would have some links to information, it would most likely be Miesk5. Send him a PM.

Good luck,

:)>-

I was wondering about the Cleaver as well, but Austrailia usually gets all the cool stuff. Can you post a pic of your engine? and the dash?

Definitely a Cleveland guys

Ford Aust took the tooling downunder in '74 or '75 and produced 351 & 302 Clevelands officially up to 1982 (a bit longer for stuff like Broncos/ F100 to 85 & DeTomaso Panteras)

'85 or '86 (change to unleaded) Australia got 5.0L EFI (Windsor) in Broncos, and I think F150's were introducted with 351 Windsors.

I also have 2 other Ford V8's

A 1971 XY Fairmont (Falcon) - 351 Cleveland - made up a a GT replica ('71 GT was fastest 4 door in world at the time)

A 2004 BA XR8 - 5.4L Quad cam ( an Aussie Modular 5.4L truck block & 4.6L Mustang heads 260kW std

Aussie Pete, welcome to Bronco Zone!!! You have one emaculate Bronk there, looks to be in showroom condition!!! I have conversed with a few blokes that have owned Broncos in Australia, and the 351Cleveland was used in your Broncos. I also know that the muscle car scene is really big there, and I'm familiar with the Ford Falcon XY GT cars. My "Shaker" on the 84 Bronco is adapted from a version from Rare Spares, Bayswater, Victoria, AU and is a repop from one of those cars. I worked in Moray, NSW, AU for a bit a few years back, and attended some of the fine car shows in the area. I'll see what info I can pass along on your Bronco, but it does share many similar features to ours here in the States. Good luck with your new Bronco, Randy JSM84
