I first noticed something weird when i had to turn the key half a turn more to get it to start-it did this once more and then when i went to turn it off the key cylinder was real sloppy and would not turn off. i had to disconnect the alt and battery to get it to stop running. I was hoping someone could tell me where to start perhaps replacing the lock cylinder this seems to be the easiest fix or would that be a waste of time?

If memory serves me right, there is a switch behind the key cylinder that had the "spring back" on it. It's the part you feel kick the key back after you start the vehicle. I may be wrong and it may be a diff. set up but I know I've had thoes go bad on many vehicles. It's an easy swap if it's there. I hope someone can cuncur with this or say I don't know what I'm talking about.
