Hi, Everyone.
Been on site for awhile, time to introduce myself. I am from southwestern Colorado, live for and love old Fords. As far a Broncos go, my first was a 78, then a 73, then a 95, now an 86. I also have a 72 F-150 swb 2wd, 76 F-250 4x4, 66 Galaxie 500, 83 F-350 4x4, all in various states of repair. My Daily drivers are a 2001 Mustang GT, and a 2000 F-150 4x4.
So last winter I got a wild hair and bought a jeep wrangler because the 86 I use for offroading is just to big and to nice to tear up. Sunk a bunch of money into a 4"lift, lockers, gears, bumpers, side protection, etc. JEEP- Just Empty Every Pocket! Anyway, biggest mistake of my life. The jeep feels and drives like a go-kart, has no power unless it's for breaking axles. So I saved up and bought a 69 Bronco with a 6" lift, 302, automatic. Pretty much a basket case, but the basics are there(power steering, 9 inch). Future mods are power brakes, lockers, fuel injection, 4-speed, and a sticker that says Jeep Rescue Vehichle.
I live in southwest Colorado, about 1 1/2 hours east of Moab. The country is real simalar to Moab, but one hour east is Telluride, with 13000 foot passes, everywhere west is high desert, so I have some of the best fourwheeling around. The 69 is just in shape enough to start trying it out, so the last few weekends have been alot of fun.
