Your fuel supply may be getting blocked from in the tank, fuel line or fuel filter.
You may have two fuel pumps, one in the tank and one on the frame rail near the fuel filter.
Before you do this MAKE SHURE THE ENGINE IS COLD ! first unplug the fuel safty switch located on the passenger side firewall behind the glovebox (it has a red button on it and is used to reset the fuel pump) then crank the engine over for about 5 or 6 seconds.
It might start and die right away this is normal.
Then plug the switch back in and disconect the battery.
That is the procedure is for relieving the fuel pressure on fuel injected models. Another way is to disconect the battery and locate the shrator valve on the fuel rail (lookes like the air valve on a bicycle tire).
Then wrap an clean old shirt or rag around the valve unscrew the cap put on some safety glasses and with a screwdriver or wooden scewr keep part of the rag over the top of the valve and screwdriver and slowly and carfully push the metal valve in to alow the fuel to leak out on the rag.
After a couple seconds you should be able to push the valve in all the way with little fuel leakage.
The pressure is know released.
Replace the cap on the valve and remove the rag and clean up any fuel spilage (if any) with another rag .
Working from the engine back, try taking off the fuel filter (put some vice grips on the rubber fuel line on both sides of the filter, just tight enough so it won't leak fuel, you can use a pan under the area to catch any fuel) mine has a plastic clip at each end that pry off with a screwdrive then the hoses pull off.
Once you have the filter off, drain the fuel from the filter into a white container, yogart container works great you'll be able to see any contaminants easily.
Then with the fuel flow direction of the filter facing up and your finger over the exit end, tap the filter on a peace of clean naturaly light colored wood, you will be able to see any larger contaminants or beeds of water.
If you find fairly larg contaminants it's going through the pump or pumps first.
And there should be a filter on the pump in the tank.
If you just find water get as much out of the filter as posible, put the filter back on and tell the guy at the local autoparts store you need the stuff that takes water of fuel.
If there the small bottles get two it's cheep.
Add one or two with every tank of fuel it might take a few tankes to get all the water out.
If you find lots of crap and the filter looks really old, try just changing the filter.
If you find lots of crap and you know the filter is more than a year old you can do the same, but your tank needs to be pulled and delt with.
If you have to pull the tank you should obvously chek the tank over good to make shure it's not rusting badly inside.
If it is replace it and the pump to save some greef.
If you have a pump on the frame you might be able to rebild it---not sure? If not take it apart and clean it or replace it with a new one, but before you put it back on run some fresh fuel through the line into an old anti freeze container by reconnecting the battery and turning the key on for a couple of seconds, just make sure the container and fuel line are secure as it pumps fuel quickly.
After thats done disconect the battery and re-conect the second pump (if equiped)then battery and with the filter still removed and the end of fuel line that connects to the filter inlet in the anti freeze container, turn the key on for a couple seconds to flush that section of fuel line.
Put on a new filter and youre good to go!
Good luck
