Two nights ago I got stuck badly, and with nothing else to hook to I went to the frame just behind the front bumper bracket, and it bent the front bumper so that the outer corners are pointed downwards. I tried using a jack and a 2x4 to bend it back but it didn't work. I'm not sure if its really badly damaged or it it can be repaired, but its driving me crazy seeing my truck like that, i tried to post pictures but it wouldn't let me so as soon as I can I will.

Now the rear bumper I hooked to the ball mount and it flexed outward a little bit and is rented over where the bracket meets the frame.

The rear bumper was snatched on at over 30 mph to get me out.

We had three ****** rope's clevaced together, and the guy had to back up basically to my bumper. I was stuck in a "dry lake bed"which if you have been stuck in one you know its basically bottomless once you break the surface lol. There were 5 trucks stuck in a row behind me and it took 5 hours to get me out.

No they got pulled out before I did lol. The lesson is if you are driving kn a "dry lake bed" either be in 4x4 or stay over 20 mph because you can go from fine to screwed in less than ten feet, and unless you are lifted with lockers front and rear u better call a buddy cuz its gonna be a long night.

The funny part is I got pulled out by a 4 cylinder jeep wrangler.

Reading the ****** part reminds me on the HC 130E Skyhook with the Fulton Recovery System that come in and snatched folks/cargo off the ground

Ya., I've seen that..., that would def. be an"E" ticket at Mickey Mice Land.!

Way better than jumping off a bridge with a rubber-band. /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

BUT., as to the dry lake bed. They must be diff. in Fla. 'cause dry lake beds here are as hard as concrete...????

RU being facetious.., meaning it had a layer of water...?

Water on a dri-lake here is like ice-skating in flat leather shoes.

Then there's "sand" ...we have sand that one has to hurry thru....or it gets tricky.

Yep., that injected 4-popper Jeep has 130-140 HP..!

-----Where's those pics..!!----

Start looking at junk yards those bumpers will never be straight again. Mine live elsewhere for the same reason. You need ot get yourself some real recovery points if you are going to continue to play. You are LUCKY that the ball did not come off and go through the truck that snatched you out.

Dry lake beds in Florida can either be rock solid like concrete or they can have a layer of grass on them and can look solid but the moment you break the surface its like really thick brownie mix, and the longer you stay stuck the deeper you sink. Its a lot of fun in the right truck.

Also on another note, would the Reese hitch off my 86 fit on my 90?

I used a clevace through the hole where the ball is supposed to go. Wen I bought the truck it didn't have one on it and I haven't gotten around to putting one on it.

That is better. The rear bumper is still not made for that much force. And the receiver should fit. I got mine off of an older F250, you can measue the frame rails to be sure. I went around the junk yard for about an hour measuring every trck that had a receiver to find one that fit. It now pretends to be my back bumper- It looks better with the plasic piece back on.

if you have access to a welder and some steel you can just grab a chunk of pipe weld on a couple of brackets to mount it with and cap the ends and voila you have a bumper, you could even drill and tap it to accept air hose fittings and hook it up to an on board air compressor.

why would you hook it to an on board air compressor?

i tried un bolting the bumper and heating it up to get it to go back in place and it worked a little, but there is still a major difference when you look at it from the side. im still trying to get pictures up.
