Just wondering if exhaust tips are just for show or do they make a nice one that adds some rumble? I have a new exhaust that was put on before I bought it and dont need to replace it but want a nicer sound.

Or perhaps just get a muffler installed? If so, please point me to one with some rumble and that gets vocal :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

a tip is exactly that, just a tip..... the muffler and pipes are where the sound is made, so to speak

I've always been a big fan of Supertrapps. They're a combination muffler/exhaust tip. The Supertrapp can be disassembled allowing you to change the number of disks which will change the way it sounds. Essentially a tunable muffler. I've used them on several of my builds and I've always been VERY happy with both the look and the sound (and of course if you don't like the sound just add or remove disks until you ARE happy with the sound).

Take a look: http://www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/auto/index.asp

Tips can change the sound at exit....if you have a stock tailpipe and you cut it and add a wider/longer tip, you wil get a diff exit note. For example, I put a SI/DO muffle on my F150, ran pipes out the back...sounded good....cut the pipes back a bit and added 20" long x 4" wide slash cut tips,....definitely change the exit note, little more rumble, little more agressive. However, they are mostly for looks....
