Engine rebuild/build which should i do....

so i have a 93 eddie w/ a 5.8. the engine blew on me long story short i blew a rod. anyway its sitting in the driveway waiting for me to get enough cash to rebuild it. i got an estimate from a machine shop if i bring them the engine, he'll rebuild it machine it and put it all back together all id have to do is put it in the truck. he said he would also put a the biggest cam without changing stuff in it. NOW what is the biggest cam that i can put in my engine WITHOUT changing injectors and lifters and whatever else has to do with the cam. also it had 158k on it. OR should i buy a new engine from some place leave some prices if you know off the top of your heads.

Comp cams makes one that is for the EFI 5.8 its the biggest you can go with the stock computer . I have one in mine and it works great . /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

do you know how much lift it has? i THINK the biggest i can go is half inch lift.

Having blown a rod, I would think about a re-manufactured long block.
