k so im lookin to put a corporate 14 in my rear and a dana 60 in the front of my 86 bronco 5.0 efi. all one tone and full floating.not gonna lie no experience with ever doing it before prob the biggest project i have taken on but i always figure it out. i know the rear should fit right in other than custom driveline fitting. and i know the front is gonna be some work with custom welding and brackets and so on. but my question is. is what trucks can i get these from. mainly what truck is going to have them in the correct length. or do they even come in diff lengths. or is it gonna hurt to have them be a little longer as to get a wider wheel base. i know im prob in over my head but that just makes it all the more fun. so any help with what lenth or trucks and years i can get these from or what ones to get would be greatly appreciated. thanks

"gonna be some work" is something of an understatement :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I've swapped D60's into a 78' and that one had a solid front axle to *begin* with and it was quite a job. An F350 will be your best bet for 1 ton parts but before starting in on a project like that I'd take the time to read up on just what's involved. I can't count the number of parts trucks I've seen that started out as projects like this. This thread is a good place to start & reading thru it probably wouldn't be a waste of your time :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

You can run coils on the dana60 front, just have to do more work. There is some width difference in single rear wheel (SRW) and dualies, as well as the vans if you get a donor axle from there.

The tone ring is a metal ring with tiny teeth on it that you will need for the rear anti-lock brake (RABS) sensor to work.

Yup, as JSM84 said you can run the coils. I've done it with a 78/79. I had to section the D44 that came out & cut out the section of the axle tubes that had the C-bushing horns. After grinding away the old tube I had the horns welded onto the D60 so that I could keep & use the coils & radius arms. To do that with your 86 I'd pull the parts from a 78/79 Bronco-73/79 F150 and use those. You'll need the C-bushing horns, radius arms, caps & brackets and the coil cups. You'd also need to add a track rod bracket to the passenger side of the D60 and fab one for the driver's side framerail. I think someone might even sell the C-bushing horns as stand-alone parts but to be honest the easiest/cheapest way to get all that stuff will be to find a 75-77.5 1/4 ton donor. (As you can imagine the swap is a little more complex that the short version I gave. The important to know when doing it is that the donor D44 has to come from a 75-77/5 F150 because those are the only axles that have the horns welded on instead of cast into the axle housing. I was able to use the D44 out of my Bronco because I'd bent the original and had swapped it for one from a 76' F150 so I was in luck)

As far as width issues go that's really one of those questions where the best answer is going to be grab yourself a tape measure & hit the boneyards. An afternoon of wandering around will get you all the info you need as well as the opportunity to ck out a number of suspension setups.
