I tried a few searches, but couldn't find anything in this regards.
I'm in a heated dispute with my eldest son over this and would like some comments if possible.
I have a '86 full size Bronco that I have had since brad new. The front differential has gone out. (I think)
Meaning that it started like a bad universal joint noise, then graduated to a constant and much louder noise comming from the front differential.
I have removed the short shaft between the transfer case and the diff. to ensure it's not U-joint.
My son isists that, since I do not use the 4wheel, (and haven't but one time back in '86) that I can just pull out the two axles and that would be ALL I would have to do.
Without the explanations of why I just don't get the front differential overhauled, the question here would be:
Is it possible Just to pull the 2 front axles out without doing too much of any thing else?
Thanks
