i have always prefered a manual trans, but i have a c6. what other than the obvious like cutting shifer hole installing pedal would that require? i am pulling the engine this winter to rebuild it and if i am ready that would be an opportune time to swap it.

first question is what type of use do you get out of your bronco? ie mostly offroad, is it a daily driver?

there's four different options that you can look into with regards to swapping in a manual transmission. there are the t18/t19 4 speed manuals, the zf 5 speed which is the heaviest duty transmission available or the lighter duty M5ODR which is also available in a 5 speed

just so you are aware no matter which manuall transmission you chose you will have to make modifications to your drive shafts.

the T18/T19 4 speed manual can be found from 1980-1987ish Bronco's and F-series trucks up to an F-250

from a 4x4 with the 5.0L or 5.8L small block. 351M will NOT work

the m5odr will be found in any light duty truck with the 302 for an engine (it's also found in ford rangers with the 4.0L)

the zf is found in 92-96 f-250's with the 5.8L only

of course you have to make sure that no matter what the donor vehicle is a 4wd

you don't have to worry about the torque converter as that's only needed for automatic transmissions ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

however i would highly recommend buying a new flywheel and pressure plate. if you're going through the effort may as well start everything off as fresh as you can. the ***** cylinder/master cylinder may be reusable but for the $40 to replace both it's the best route. i would also probably reccommend new bell housing bolts just for the ease of it
