Well compared to modern vehcles, these ol trucks don't stop as well.

Recently I put on new pads and rotors before my last camping trip. Brakes didn't stop worth a jack. I was able to stop normally. But panic stops, what are those??

So anywho, was putting off taking it to the shop to have them re-do the front brakes. Then all the sudden, the most horrible random noise I've ever herad, and it didn't sound good. Got home and looked..the shimmy plate was sliding off!! Into the shop it went 20min later.

Came out with top of the line pads, and resurfaced rotors. Truck stops like a dream now. And incase any of you are interested to know, I got duralast rotors with duralast gold brake pads - I'll never be going back to these pads again.

..unfortantly trip to the brake shop cost me $148.

I had a scary adventure when the master cylinder when out on my bronco in the middle of a winter, when those go you have no brakes until the very end when you have locked tires. with snow and ice everywhere I barely went over 35km/h and took it straight to a shop, (closest one was about 2 hours away at these speeds)

Police used the Big Bronco for years. You can get those pads and they will stop even better but they eat the rotor up. So every brake job you need rotors and pads which isn't a bad idea anyway. Replacment discs are cheap but it is a hassle to poud out the wheel studs...

Like a lot of broncos these days, ours sits more than it runs.

A few months back I took it for inspection, and it failed on rear brakes.

When I pulled the drums, the pads looked good.

The wheel cylinders weren't leaking... but they weren't moving!

I was stunned at how little new ones cost :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Since the front calipers, and pads were new about 3 months prior, she now stops just as she should!

I mention this just as a note to others who let their beast sit more than they drive it.
