New here and I'm checking something for my. We have given him a 1989 Bronco II, but he needs to buy it on "sweat equity". Teaches him nothing is free and a little about mechanics and self reliance. Anywho, is the auto trans the same between this rig and an early Explorer? I think they are both A4LD's. And until what year did they use them. Thanks. Dan

the A4LD from the xplorer and 4.0 rangers are the HD ones and can be used on the 2.9. i think 94 was the last year
