the power back window on my 91 bronco wont go up when the tail gate is closed, but when i open it and close the latches for the tail gate on my own it goes up. is that a safety switch? if so can anyone tell me how to fix it.

thanks

Yes it is the safety switch. There are two things you can do:

1. check the bolts that attach the gate opening mechanism to the inside of the tail gate (center). If you can see that the bolts have shifted over the years, loosen them and move them back to the original position. It will be obvious where they were.

2. loosen the tail gate latch stud a little and tap it slightly toward the back.

Good luck,

:)>-

Always a possibility. Most people end up bypassing the switch, by wire-nutting the two leads together.

Good luck,
