it is a 1980 bronco xlt with a 302 C6 trans.

1) there are no tags on either axles so trying to figured out what I got the tag code on the door jam is H2. can anyone tell what this is means.axle is giving trouble

2) if I got a axle from a 1989 bronco and found out they are the same ratio. I can just swap everything out ?

9 inch Swap in an 88

Source: by kemicalburns (Travis L) - pics are @ at http://www.superford.org/registry/vehicles/detail.php?id=1725&s=16878#content

Travis wrote elsewhere; "...a fellow bronco guy set me up with a 9inch and we completed the swap on wednesday. total time was about 5hrs. the 9" swaped right in I even used the brakes from the 8.8 on the 9" but did need new drums. used the hard brake lines from the 8.8 as well. I would have to say that it was very easy as long has you have a second person to help. the drive shaft went on perfect. ive noticed that some broncos have a ****** attachment on some rear driveshafts that would require a new drive line.

.."
