I wanted to share a solution I found to the typical rear window motor problem. I just fixed the rear window on my 84 Bronco (with my son's help) by replacing the worn out motor gear with a window motor from a 79 Lincoln Mark V. The original Bronco motor has two gears; a plastic outer gear and metal inner gear that connects with the motor shaft. There is a triangular slot inside the plastic gear that the other metal gear fits into to make the whole thing work. Well, that plastic gear slips easily around that triangular gear shaft after a while. The Lincoln motor has the same gear set up except that the plastic gear has an inner triangular shaft that fits into the metal gear so that it is connected both internally and externally. This setup is very strong and not likely to slip easily. I couldn't find a good picture of this gear set yet but I will look some more. The bonus is that the gear sets are interchangable so you can use either the Lincoln motor of the original Bronco motor. Just thought I'd share this info.
