i'm trying to install a set of warn 9790 manual front hubs on my 96 stock independent front suspension bronco. i've only attempted the passenger side so far. i got the spindle nut conversion kit installed and the ****** washer set reinstalled. the only problem now is that i can't get the axle shaft far enough out of the new hub body assembly the put the axle retaining ring on. the instructions recommend using a pry bar on the knuckle to push the shaft outboard far enough (about a 1/4 in. is how far it needs to go) to install the ring. the problem is that i can't get it move even the slightest. any ideas?

I don't believe you need those washers any longer. They served the purpose of keeping your stub axle outboard (along with that c clip). The stub axle will now be kept outboard with the small snap ring that was included with your new hubs. It's installed outside of the hub body.

I just did Warn premiums on my '96 and came upon the same issue. I couldn't fit those three washers back in and still have room to get the snap ring and large retaining ring back on either. I've not been told otherwise, but I just left them out and have seen no ill effects in about 300 miles of driving.
