Welcome to the Zone! >

I am having a similar problem with my 351W.

I have replaced the Cap, Rotor, Plugs, Wires, Coil, Module and Timing Chain but it still runs like $hit under load (I.E. in drive) over 1500 RPMs.

I just pulled the Distributor and found the shaft seems too lose and there is about 1cm of play side to side at the bottom of the housing.

I bought a new distributor off eBay for $178.00. (Procomp HEI EFI Billet)

If I were you I would bull the distributor and inspect it very closely for play. Also look at the gear for excessive wear. If it is missing teeth or warn out pretty bad then I would say get a new distributor and also think about a new cam.

You may still want to replace the chain and gears as well.

I will let you know if the new distributor fixes the problem.

Good luck
