Its pretty intensive. The frame portion of the motor mounts are completely different, you may be able to find adapter motor mounts. I think 460 swap motormounts might do the trick. Your whole fuel system will have to be changed including the lines. The efi lines cannot support the volume of fuel a carb demands. You will need an ignition box, and the know how to hook it up. Hopefully your 351m is complete with all accessories because they will be totally different. Then its your tranny, but you already know that. Its not a basic swap by any means. If it were me I would sell the 351m and put the cash toward another 302.

WOULD IT BE BETTER OR EASIER TO BUY A 351W CAUSE I AM LOOKING TO ADD MORE POWER AND TRY AND GET AWAY FROM THE FUEL INJECTION ON IT SO IT WILL BE EASIER TO WORK ON AND CHEAPER TO WORK ON

Yes, a 351W motor will be a more direct fit than the 351M, since the Windsor tranny bellhousing pattern and motor moutns are similar to your 302. it will still be a ton of work to convert from the EFI system to a carb, but it can be done. I did that on the EFI 460 that I swapped into my 84 Bronco, might take a look at the thread and see what I did, JSM84

what the deal is is that i have a friend that has a 78 ( I think) T-Bird that his son wrecked that still runs great and he wants to get rid of it. It has a c6 trans but i dont know if it will work or not i can get all of it for 500 dollars. My father barrowed my bronco to use whils my moms van was in the shop and ran it hot and messed up the motor. I got the truck from my brother in law and had to put a new motor and new trans in it two years ago so it is not all that old. The car still runs and works great it just bent the frame on it . what do you think would be a good idea to get back running. i will also have to replace the fuel injectors for the 302 if i keep it cause some of them melted from the heat i think.

The 351w will be way easier but as stated you will face challenges with the fuel system. Your engine ran hot and it melted your injectors? Did I read that right? Where do you live?

I live in Mississippi and i think that is what happened but they are not completly melted they got very very hot and do not look like they are any good. my friend has that 351m in a old tbird he has that i can get for 500 dollars that has everything and it still runs great he went up the road in it this week the frame is bent on the car so he wants to get rid of it.i was thinking of using that pump and the other stuff off that car for the motor. just change the mounting hardware and try to find a 4x4 trans the car has a c6 but it is a car trans.

The reason I asked where you live and what was wrong with your 302 is I think I might have most of the parts you will need to fix it. I think I still have a set of injectors, plus some other misc parts off the top of the engine. Like the fuel rail, some wiring. That would be your cheapest option as long as there is no internal engine damage. If you are interested just make a list of everything you need and I will see what I have laying around in the garage.
