Wanting to change transmissions to a 4 speed. Looked at the toploader transmissions. Found that I have a 3 speed w/overdrive on my shelf. This came out of a 85 bronco w/6 cyl. The trans is a T170FT series with the shifter in the top of the trans housing(RTS). Will this work in my 72 bronco? Bronco Graveyard has tail shafts for the toploader overdrive, would this shaft work? Than a modification to the intermediate housing to except the larger bearing. The Bronco would be used for mainly road driving, that is why I'm not putting in a np435.
