My first problem is my rear window not wanting to go up all the way, I replaced the rear weatherstripping so would that be stiff enough to slow the window down? I didn't have this problem until after this was installed, now I have to raise as far as i goes on its own then raise the rest of the way manually, kind of a PITA.

Second isn't a problem but a question, I am soon replacing both my windshield and the rear side windows. I have all new rubbers from LMC truck ready to go but does anyone have any tips or know how much of a pain changing these will be? Thanks

As for your rear window, it sounds like your motor may be going bad. It could be the motor inself or the internal gear is bad. The internal plastic gear has two rubber "snubbers" that over time will decay and fall apart. When this happens, the added resistance of the new rubber molding bogs down the motor and the gear slips on these snubbers.

As for the molding on your windshield and side windows (I assume you mean the quarter windows), first thing I can tell you from experiance is to take your time. If you have the seals with the insert, this will be the first thing you have to remove. Once you have these removed, take a semi-dull knife and run it between rubber seal and the glass. Do this to both the inside and outside of the rubber. This helps break the "age" seal between the glass and the rubber seal and removal of the glass easier. Once you have done this you will be ready to remove the glass. Since you are replacing the seal you can just cut the seal on the outside and remove the glass. Since the glass is curved, you will have to set it some place out of the way and it can be supported, saw horses work good for this. You can now remove the old seal and pitch it in the trash. As for installing the new glass and seal, Haynes or Chiltons does a real good job of explaining how to install the new seal and glass. You do not need any special sealers or glue to install or seal the windows. It helps if you have someone help you do this as it is a two person job.

Thanks man, as of now we plan to change the windows with a three man team, it shouldn't be too bad I don't have the experiance but the other 2 do. As for my back window, you think it would be worth pulling a motor from a junkyard? The junkyard I go to has about six 79' broncos and i get along well with the owner or just buy a new one?

I would check the gear first before looking into a new motor. Gear is about $10.00, new motor will run about $40.00.

The problem with my rear window was a bad wire in the corner of the tailgate, from bending with the tailgate all the time it wore thin and created a weak connection

I have my windshield replaced but when we started with the drivers-side rear side window we noticed a small crack in it that we didnt see before because they are factory tint, when we said **** with it its to small to notice and continued installing the window the size of the crack quickly grew from the stress of installing it :(( so we took it back out, now either I have to find another factory tinted drivers side window or a set of clear rear windows but I need to find something and soon. I was replacing the sliding rears that have a wing window because they leaked.
