Hello all,

I am new here, I have a 88 bronco II that I am in the process of putting in a 1993 dash from a explorer. This wiring is about to drive me crazy, I am trying to figure out the instr cluster. I have searched my wiring diag and cannot find the wire color for the abs light. Also my fuel gauge needle pegs out at full so I think something is a miss there also. If anyone out there has does this swap and can shed some light on the plugs with the proper wiring colors, i would be grateful.

Thank you,

Louis

First question I have, does your 88 have ABS? I know the 89-90 had rear ABS, but don't remember seeing it on the 88"s.

Follow the brake lines from the master cylinder to the frame rail, one will go into a tee, that will be the front brakes, the other will go to the inside of the frame rail, if that line goes into an aluminum block mounted to the frame rail, that is the ABS module. It will have a steel line going toward the rear end and a wiring plug. Now you can trace the wiring back to find the wire you need for the light.

Your best bet on wiring diagrams is to get an EVTM for both trucks, the donor as well as the one getting the transplant. U can usually find them on ebay by searching for "ford bronco EVTM" and then select one for the year of your truck. All the electrical information is there and in a form as to not give you a head ache.

Good luck,

:)>-

Thanks for the info, I just received the EVTM book on Thursday, after paying 36.00. a day or two after I ordered it I found a site from the ford web, helminc.com, thay have the book for 15.00 :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> too late I all ready orderd the other, and they have a owners manual for 19.00, not bad.

Thanks,

Louis
