Ok... what do you weld with... seems like if I even used my wire welder on its lowest setting I would burn a hole in the pan... not to mention, not getting a good weld on the oily surface.I wouldnt use one of the kits if you must install one I usually weld a 1/4 pipe union onto the bottom of the pan then you can put a pipe plug in to make sure its sealed . The kits pinch a teflon washer on both sides of a hole you must drill in it and they always seem to come loose . /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
i feel ya on that/emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />Wow... so a 1982 that has never had its transmission even serviced... wow.
No wonder it seems to have some problems with shifting gears and slipping.
Found out that the edges of the new filters are SHARP too... first real blood shed on the new bronco, so I guess its official.. blood, sweat, and tears.. LOL.
So, slow and steady wins the race on this one huh?Naaa do it yourself it will be fine . Heres what ya do go to a harware store and get a 3/8 pipe union the kind that are 3 pieces . Take it apart one piece has a taper at the end measuer the outside of the taper and drill a hole in your pan to match . Now outside that taper is a very nice ****** to weld too . set your welder on low and practice on a piece to get the wire speed set right there should be a good hum when your welding not a pop pop pop . Now heres the trick do you have any aluminum pieces at least 1/4 thick or better ? If you do clamp this to the underside of your weld this will pull the extra heat off and keep you from burning through alot of times burn through is from the wire speed being set too high the thin metal will liquify and the wire will push through carrying the base metal with it causeing a hole . Try that method and youll be suprised . Its always better whne you can do a project yourself /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
