here's the story...
when i bought my bronco the windows would stick when rolling up and down, as well as the door opening mechanism. so, i sprayed a generous amount of wd-40 inside the door from above while the window was down all the way.
i never bothered to wipe off the glass, and several hours went by before i rolled them up. by this time the wd-40 had dried, leaving a pale ***** residue in the form of dripping and overspray.
i can't get it off. i have tried a razor blade and many different other chemicals like formula 409, acetone, and mineral spirits. i also tried wd-40, thinking liquid wd-40 would dissolve the dried residue.
nothing has worked. i even called the wd-40 headquarters asking for help, and they gave me the same tips i had already tried.
if i dig in real hard with my thumbnail, then i am able to scrape off a tiny bit. i am sure that if i tried a scraper that is tougher than a razor blade, then it would probably get some of it off, but i run the risk of scratching the glass, so i have been reluctant to try that.
does anyone have any ideas for me?
