VSS Problems...

Hey all,

Was out wheeling over weekend and got stuck in a mud puddle. Had to leave the truck over night as I didnt have a buddy to tow me out. Underside of truck was submerged (trans, diffs, transfer case etc) When we finally got the truck out, speedo was broken and Overdrive light is flashing. Havent lookedat underside yet, but any ideas for what may be causing this? Trans is also shifting abnormally. Maybe a result of bad VSS?

What year is your truck?

prior to '92 the VSS is in the transfer case where the speedo cable inserts, '92 and later it is on the top of the rear diff.

Might be just a bad connection
