I got a job at a local auto express, and my boss is offering me a v8 302 efi out of an f150 that was pulled out running and replaced with a new one. the guy said it was smoking, and didn't want to pull the engine apart to fix it (which is either the rings or valve seals) should I buy it for the $50 he wants for it (complete with exhaust, intake manifolds -throttle body, harmonic balancer, water pump, and such.)

If so, I will put this in my b2 with a stick shift out of an f150 and put the v6 2.9 with the tranny into my little black samaurai.

think that'll be *******' enough for the money it takes?(which I truthfully don't have) :huh:

I'll take donations if anyone wants to help a young, promising hot-rodder's cause. [-o<

-'86 B2, headers, 2.9 v6, dual exhaust, 31"cooper discoverers, 3.73 rear diff. gears-

Why do I always end up being the one playing "devils advocate"...?

Anyway, do some research..... I think you will find ;

1) front end weight

2) front suspension

3) handling

issues with BOTH veh. after the swap.....not to mention all the other alignment, fit, & mounting issues & expenses. What about the computer for the eng....?

IMHO,

I would think if he's serious.....tell him to give it to you just to get it out of the his way.

Then you could get it cleaned up & ready for a truck it would fit right in to. That way, you could actually make some $$$ rather than spending a butt-load on something that may/may not even work.
