Hey Guys I am in need of some new ideas. My fuse for me turning signals, window washing system, and back up lights keep on blowing everytime I turn the key. My brake lights work, my hazards work, and my lights when I turn on my headlights work.

I have disconnect my signal turning harness and the fuse still blows. I have even hot wired the fuse box to see if I can get my signals working, that didn't work. I am at witts ends. I am waiting for someone to save my day. Thanks

Gabe

Well,

If un-plugging the turn sig. connector to the column didn't change anything, then the prob. isn't in the column.

Other suspecious areas;

1. hot wire that feeds the column...back

2. window washer circuit

3. back-up light circuit.

Try to disable 2, & then 3 first,....& see if fuse holds.

(this is assuming washer, B/U lights & turn-sig. are all on the same fuse)

BTW, what year veh...?

I own a '74 bronco, I forgot about that.

I forgot to add that I also disconnected the rear brake light harness (which I think the back up light is in that harness too) and the fuse still blew. I have put a lot of my attention on the turning signal wires. I will look on the other functions on the same fuse.

Bully Bob,

What do u mean by "hot wire that feeds the column...back." I don't understand.

Well I tried unplugging everything in the circuit and still blowing the fuse. I have unhooked the wire in back of the ignition switch and I do not blow the fuse. I am now thinking, could the ignition switch be bad and making a connection it shouldn't and over powering the fuse? Do ignition switches have a history of failing? Help please.
