The rear window on my 95 Bronc shattered on Sunday :(( I took it to the glass shop and they informed me that the mount for the window motor has rusted away, and the motor is just sort of hanging in the tailgate, so they could put a window in and get it up but it wouldn't be able to roll back down. I can't find a used tailgate locally and I don't want to spend a ton for a new one. Don't know that I trust an aftermarket. I wonder if anyone has or has seen anyone try to put glass from a topper or something hinged from the top like that. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

do you like to take the top off alot? if you do, it will be a loss for you to get the window permanently up. i saw a guy drivin down the road a couple of days ago in a 1990 with the top off and the window up. it was floppin around everywhere. if you love to take the top off and dont carry any rear passengers, id say go for no window and get a soft top. here in minnesota. the weather man will predict clear and sunny and itll rain. i dont know if ill ever take mine off.

No, I never take the top off. I'm a self-employed contractor. So I need the back to keep tools and permanent window up is not an option for me

Is there anyway that a new brace could be welded in place of the rusted one? Seems like it would be doable.

My tailgate is getting marginal and the lower part of the bracket rusted loose. I used a couple of pop rivits to hold it temporarily untill I get around to replacing the gate. It works just fine.

Good luck,

:)>-

Yeah, mine is pretty much gone...Also one of the bushing is broke and can't get a new one on the regulator bracket....Its pretty much screwed

I dont want to, but I think I may have to get rid of the bronc. I need a reliable vehicle for my buisness, and I don't think I'm done having major problems with this :(( It runs great, but has quite a bit of rust around rear wheels and I think it may be starting to have some problems with front suspension components

Cant find any good deals on Broncos around here....There either falling apart worse than mine or people want 7-8K for em. Plus the gas mpg is killing me for my business....I'm only getting 11.5 mpg

11.5?! wow, that's low! being i am a ford fan, i'd say either a bronco II or a ranger.

Yeah, Bronco II's are even harder to find here and the ranger is to small...lol I'm actually considering a Windstar...I dread the thought of driving a minivan, but it would get great mpg and 4 doors would give me good access to all my tools and equipment once I take the back seats out...But we'll see what I end up doing
