Should be the same key if it is the original, but if it has been changed it will be different from the door key. Mine use to have two different keys. I looked round in a junk yard to find a Bronco with 1. keys in it and 2. one that had a door key that operated the rear window switch, (not the easiest thing to find in a junk yard since keys tend to disappear). You could also get a matching set from a dealer or have a lock smith key the tumbler to the door key.Same key or 2 different keys in 95?
I had the same problem. I removed the Driver's side taillight & found a broken wire. I fixed that and the keyswitch worked again. That may be your problem too.ok does anyone else have the problem of their key to roll the rear window up and down only work sometimes. but the switch on the inside works 24/7
The diagram that was sent you shows that the ONLY way a complete circuit is made is through the dash switch. It supplies the path to ground. The biggest problem with the tailgate window motor is the lousy grounds in Broncos. There is a fix for this problem (www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7937) for the rewiring digram. It involves adding a couple of relays and running some wire.ok does anyone else have the problem of their key to roll the rear window up and down only work sometimes. but the switch on the inside works 24/7
The contacts inside the switch are bad. I just dealt with the same thing. If you take the switch apart you can depress the contacts inside (USE A NON METAL OBJECT, TRUST ME). The mechanism inside is like a lever. Anyhow, my advice is to just admit defeat, and shell out the 40 bucks for a new switch if it's that important. I live in southern california where the weather is almost ALWAYS a windows down day. For me it was important. For someone in MT it might not be so important especially during the winter. You can find a switch at www.broncograveyard.com or call the dealer. either way it's about $35. The junk yard might have one, I called around to the few close ones and no luck. Good luck with the search and don't forget to remove the trim pieces that reveal the screws to remove the dash insert. My first problem is that the dash switch to let down the back window does not work but the key switch works fine. Could that be a bad fuse, although the power windows and door locks still work?
I just realized I think your switch is cheaper than mine was. JFB has it for 22 bucks. plus anther 7 or so for shipping. here's the place if you haven't found it yet http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-34577_...tch_on_dash.htmThanks tdub, I thought I might have to replace the switch.
do all broncos do this?ahhh i DIDENT EVEN KNOW A KEY WOULD OPEN THE BACK WINDOW .. APPARENTLY IT ISENT THE IGNITION KEY EITHER THATS THE ONLY KEY i HAVE..
