I tried hooking up the scan tool to my 1988 Ford Bronco 5.0 XLT earlier today and found all the connectors besides the 5v reference voltage wire. The engine was rebuilt not too long ago and im assuming it got lost somewhere in there  where is this 5v reference voltage taken from? Maybe I can find the source and track this thing down a little better. Thanks for looking.

It sorta helps. Nice to know I don't need any fancy scan tool to diagnose this DTC. I still can't find the self test STI connector, I will have to look again tomorrow. Thank you
OK... that's the small connector. if you follow the wires from the big connector about four inches to teh main wiring harness, you should find where the small conenctor's wires break out from the main harness. overall there is only about 8 inches of wire separating the two.

Hope that helps.
